Hemimorphite - XLG

Hemimorphite is a mineral composed of Hydrated Zinc Silicate Hydroxide, classified as a sorosilicate, that forms as thin tabular crystals with vertical striations. The crystals have different terminations at each end, which are termed hemimorphic. Hemimorphite also occurs in massive, compact, granular, botryoidal, stalactitic, fibrous, and encrusting habits. It is extracted commercially as a minor ore of zinc, as well as to supply the specimen trade.
